Water Analysis Using R Statistical Software
Introduction to R for water data analysis
Click here for our five module course on getting started with R for working with water data. The five modules start with loading and becoming familiar with R and progress to basics of plotting and data wrangling.
The following portions of this website will continue to be devloped in preparation for the upcoming workshops.
Plotting data from the MSUEWQ Data Hub in R
Boxplots
Included here are R scripts and an accompanying folder structure for creating boxplots with data from the MSUEWQ Data Hub (link to Data Hub here and link to Data Hub download page here).
1. Click here to download a zipped batch files for creating boxplots with data from the Data Hub.
2. Watch this 5 minute video for an overview of how to use this zipped folder of code.
3. Watch this 5 minute video for an overview of downloading data for another watershed and plotting it.
Plotting Flow and Water Quality Time Series and Regressions
Included here are R scripts and accompanying folder structure for creating a time series plot with flow and water quality data. Flow data is from the DNRC StAGE website and water quality is from the Sun River Watershed Group, downloaded from the MSUEWQ Data Hub, but also available through the National Water Quality Portal. You can also watch this 50 minute webinar led by Adam Sigler, disucssing these resources and the use of these scripts.
