Jim Bauder is the coordinator of the MSU Extension Water Quality Program. He is also a Professor and Extension Soil and Water Quality Specialist in the Dept. of Land Resources and Environmental Sciences at MSU-Bozeman. Jim graduated from Utah State University with a Ph.D. in irrigation-drainage science. For the past two decades Jim has dedicated his work toward irrigation management in semi-arid regions of Montana and has become one of the most well know specialists on saline-sodic soil and water management and options for on-the-land management of coal bed methane product water. Jim also designed and delivers soil and water quality online graduate courses for the MSU Masters of Science in Science Education program. He is a fellow of ASA, SSSA, and SWCS.

Suzanna is the Education Coordinator for the MSUEWQ program. The primary focus of her work has been designing water quality and soil science educational materials for extension audiences, as well as develop and deliver online water quality and soil science courses for teachers and professional practitioners. Suzanna is currently conducting research in the area of saline-sodic water management and agricultural pharmaceuticals residue in surface water. Suzanna received her bachelor's degree in Earth Sciences at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana and her master's degree in Education at MSU.

Denton, MT 59430
(406) 567-2664

kimh@montana.edu
Kim is a research associate with the MSUEWQ program. Her primary work efforts include flow, sediment, and nutrient monitoring/sourcing within irrigated, semi-arid ag lands. Kim received her master's at MSU in Land Resources and Environmental Sciences where her graduate work focused on assessing the physical and chemical properties of soil irrigated with saline-sodic water. She received her bachelor's degree at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in environmental studies.
Amber Kirkpatrick, MS
Water Quality Associate
245 Leon Johnson Hall
Bozeman, MT 59717
(406) 994-7381

akirkpatrick@montana.edu
Amber is a research associate with the MSUEWQ program. She received an undergraduate degree in Earth Sciences-physical geography and soils-from MSU. Her graduate research investigated constructed wetlands as an option for management of CBM product water locally and saline-sodic water globally. Current research projects include assessing the viability of CBM product water as an added rainfall event, determining flow/sediment relationships and water accounting, assessment of native plant species viability in salinizing, semi-arid landscapes and developing stream monitoring programs for schools.
Teresa Mowen, BS
Water Quality Associate

teresa.mowen@montana.edu
Teresa is a research associate with the MSUEWQ program. Her primary work efforts include soil and water quality data analysis, analysis of flow monitoring data and canal efficiency within irrigated ag lands, and bacteria, sediment, and nutrient loading within animal feeding operations. Teresa also administers the Well Educated program. She received her bachelor's degree at Montana State University in Environmental Sciences with a minor in Soil Science.
Holly Sessoms, MS
Water Quality Associate

Holly is a former research associate with the MSUEWQ program. Her primary work effort included flow monitoring for water budgeting and assessment of best management practices within irrigated ag lands, soil infiltration rates and saline-sodic water management, and assessment of native plant species viability in salinizing, semi-arid landscapes. Holly received her bachelor's degree at the University of Wyoming in range and watershed management and her master's degree at Montana State in Land Resources and Environmental Sciences where she focused on saline-sodic water management through irrigation of wetland species native to semi-arid landscapes.
W. Adam Sigler, MS
Water Quality Associate
245 Leon Johnson Hall
Bozeman, MT 59717
(406) 994-7381

Adam is a research associate with the MSUEWQ program. Adam received his bachelor's degree at Utah State University in watershed science and his master's degree in Land Resources and Environmental Sciences at Montana State University. His primary work efforts include bacteria, nutrients, and sediment monitoring and assessment of best management practices within animal feeding operations and riparian environments. Adam also developed and delivers the Well Educated program for domestic water quality testing.
